In October 2021, our team worked on a significant campaign for CookieRun: Kingdom, a popular mobile game. This update was a milestone for the game as it introduced English voice dubbing for the first time. The objective was to enhance the gaming experience for English-speaking players and expand the game's global reach, specifically targeting core gamers and anime fans.
STRATEGY
Our strategy was to create the feeling that CookieRun: Kingdom was everywhere, immersing our target audience in the game's universe. To achieve this, we broadened our marketing channels while being highly selective in our approach, collaborating with renowned and popular voice actors, ensuring high-quality and engaging voice performances. The campaign included several specifically targeted marketing initiatives.
CAMPAIGN & EXECUTION
YouTube, Twitter, and Spotify Campaigns: We launched targeted branding campaigns on YouTube, Twitter, and Spotify, creating engaging content that showcased the new English dubbing and built excitement around the update.
Fan Art Contest with DeviantArt: Partnering with DeviantArt, we organized a fan art contest that involved digital art influencers. This contest encouraged fans to create and share their artwork inspired by the game, fostering community engagement and generating buzz on social media.
Twitch Influencer Collaborations: We worked with prominent Twitch influencers to promote the update through live streams and interactive sessions, reaching a wider audience and driving player engagement.
Webtoon Integration: Collaborating with Webtoon artists, we featured our game characters in popular Webtoon series, creating a unique crossover that attracted fans of both platforms and introduced the game to a new audience.
TikTok Hashtag Challenge: We launched a TikTok Hashtag Challenge that featured a VoiceOver Duet with our main voice actor, Jeremy Shada, and TikTok gaming influencers. This challenge encouraged users to participate and create their own content, further amplifying the update's reach.
Branding Campaigns for Streaming Services and Entertainment/Gaming Websites: We executed branding campaigns on platforms such as Reddit, CrunchyRoll, Rakuten Viki, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, PocketGamer, IGN, and Gamasutra, ensuring extensive coverage and visibility across key media channels.
OOH Billboard Advertising: We strategically selected billboard locations in areas with high traffic of our core target audience, maximizing visibility and impact.
Additionally, we highly utilized our social media pages to keep the community engaged and informed. Voice actors also promoted the update on their personal social media accounts, which contributed significantly to organic engagement and reach. This strategy amplified our message, creating a buzz and driving player interaction across various platforms.
The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive. Players appreciated the enhanced immersion and accessibility brought by the English dubbing. This update not only improved player retention but also attracted new players, contributing to the game's continued success and growth.
